Samaritans issues reminder of their freephone number
Anyone feeling down or unable to cope is being urged to ring the Samaritans for a confidential chat.
Their freephone helpline, 116 123, offers a friendly, listening ear to any problem that feels overwhelming.
Christmas and New Year's can be particularly difficult for anyone experiencing depression, loneliness, or bereavement.
Aidan Carr, Samaritans' Branch Coordinator, says the helpline is open 24/7:
