Sample Studios are looking for new location Leeside
Calls have been made for a building to be made available in Cork city to house a multi-disciplinary creative centre.
Sample Studios are currently occupying the former FAS offices Building on Sullivan's Quay on a short term tenancy agreement and operate 62 art studios, an exhibition gallery, along with a 51 seater amphitheatre in the space...
However plans have long been in place for the building to be developed into a hotel and offices and Sample have now been given six months to quit the building..
Sample-Studios say there is a high demand for artists work spaces in the city but finding a building with a low rental rate is a challenge
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Artist Aideen Quirke says they're hoping to submit a proposal for use of the Cork Butter Exchange building:
