Save Cork City Group Determined To Find An Alternative To The OPW Flood Relief Plan

The Save Cork City Group say it's never to late to submit ideas to retain the historic fabric of the city.
The group say they fully support a new initiative inviting engineers and architects from around the world to enter a competition worth €10,000 to come up with an alternative to the Lower Lee Flood Relief Scheme.
The group have proposed an alternative tidal barrier solution to the raised walls and embankments development proposed by the Office Of Public Works.
Save Cork City say this is just another part of their campaign against the €140 million scheme as they claim the frontage of the quay walls will be destroyed under the current plans.
