Save Cork City group to present three point alternative plan to Lower Lee Flood Relief plan

A group campaigning against planned flood defences for the city are to present their three point alternative plan this week.
As part of the €150 million Lower Lee Flood Relief scheme walls will be construced along the quays which the Save Cork City campaign say will damage the historic fabric of the city as well as threatening trade and tourism.
Over 250 submissions from the public were received by the Office of Public Works about the planned €150 million project.
A number of protests were also mounted in the city over the controversial plans.
Speaing to RedFM News Seán Antóin Ó Muirí of the Save Cork City campaign says the plan provides a viable alternative and is backed by engineers and university professionals:
