Schools out for a second day as ASTI strike action continues

A teachers' row means hundreds of secondary schools will remain closed later - for the second day in a row.

Members of the ASTI union are refusing to carry out supervision or substitution duties without more money.

They also want better salaries for new entrants to the profession.

Speaking to RedFM News ASTI rep in Cork Anne Piggott says the Education Minister needs to start listening as many teachers are not being treated as equals:
