Schools throughout Cork open today
All secondary schools are open today after the ASTI agreed to suspended its industrial action.
The union is to attend talks with the Department of Education - which will be facilitated by the Chairperson of the Teachers' Conciliation Council.
Members are calling for equal pay for new teachers and payment for supervision and substitution duties.
However, the government says that the Lansdowne Road agreement - which the ASTI has not signed up to - is the only deal on offer.
ASTI General Secretary Kieran Christie says they're hoping the talks will be successful:
