Scott Medal awarded to Gardai for Bravery in Templemore today

Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe - who was shot dead in the line of duty in Co Louth in 2013 - has been posthumously awarded the highest Garda award for bravery.
His widow Caroline accepted the gold Scott Medal on his behalf in Templemore this morning.
Adrian's partner Joseph Ryan who is originally from Mayfield - and was also held at gunpoint in the same incident received a silver medal
11 other Gardaí were also honored - including Garda Liam O'Leary from Youghal who received a bronze medal for his bravery in tackling a man armed with a knife who was attempting to rob Roche's Garage in Carrigtwohill in 2013.
