Search For Sites For Two Schools In Ballincollig Raised In Dáil

Cork TD Michael Creed has called on the Education Minister to prioritse permanent locations for two schools in the town
Gaelscoil an Chaisleáin has been operating at Ballincollig Rugby Club, while Le Chéile secondary school announced in April that it would start classes in temporary accommodation at Ballincollig GAA Club in September.
The Department says they are working with Cork County Council to identify a site for the schools, however efforts to secure sites so far have proved very difficult in recent years.
Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Creed says the issue has been going on for far too long:
"This is, in fact, the fourth time that I've raised this issue in the chamber. And the script is, by and large, the same. And that's why I had hoped that Minister Foley might be here this morning herself to urge her to take a hands on approach directly with this issue because it is of the utmost importance that this issue is brought to a conclusion, so that all of the next steps which, of themselves, take on average five years can be progressed."
