Search Operation Mounted in West Cork After Swimmer Reported Missing
It's understood the swimmer had a kayak with them
It's reported the swimmer left Drisheen Pier between Oldcourt and Skibbereen around 8am this morning to go out on the Ilen River.
The alarm was raised after they went out of sight and the emergency services were scrambled.
In the past few minutes Valentia Coastguard confirmed to RedFM News that they are currently coordinating a search operation for the missing swimmer and a rescue helicopter has been tasked to the scene
