Searches For Homes in Cork Increase By 107%

Searches for new homes across Cork increased by 107% - following the launch of the "Help to buy" scheme by the Government.
That's according to Daft.ie who say the areas that attracted most interest Leeside were Glanmire, Ballincollig, Kinsale, Blackrock and Douglas.
The "Help to buy" scheme was launched in January giving first time buyers of new homes a five percent tax rebate to help them save for a deposit, up to a maximum of €20,000.
Between September and December last year, house prices in Cork were 9.2% higher than 2015, with the average house costing €248,000.
Speaking to RedFM News Martin Clancy from Daft.ie says the spike in searches points to an increased interest in new homes in Cork:
