Fine Gael have branded Fianna Fáil's decision "a serious mistake" and the party says it will make every effort to put a stable Government in place by next Thursday.
The Acting Taoiseach Enda Kenny has accused Fianna Fáil of putting "narrow party interests ahead of the public interest and the party says it's an historic missed opportunity.
