Second entrance to Mahon Point denied despite poor access to centre

The requests of a second entrance to Mahon Point by the developer of the centre have been denied on several occasions

The poor access to Mahon Point has been defended by the developer.

Owen O'Callaghan built the shopping centre, which opened in 2005, and says he has tried to resolve the bad access on several occasions but the power to change it, is out of his hands.

The South Ring Road, which passes Mahon Point, is controlled by Transport Infrastructure Ireland and despite several attempts to get permission for a second entrance to the shopping centre it has always been refused.

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Owen O'Callaghan says this may change in the future when work on the Dunkettle Interchange is completed.
