Second protest mounted against Direct Provision in Cork

A second protest has been mounted in Cork against the system of Direct Provision which accomodates asylum seekers. 90 residents at Ashbourne House in Glounthaune began a picket outside the facility at 7 o'clock this morning in protest at delays over their cases being dealt with. Some say they're waiting up to 10 years to have their cases processed. Meanwhile a protest by over 200 residents at the Kinsale Road direct provision centre is now entering its fourth day with staff and delivery trucks denied access to the facility. Residents claim they are being treated inhumanely in cramped conditions with no access to work or education.
