Services in the city working together to tackle drug misuse

The comments come from David Lane of the Cork Drugs Task Force.
The Cork Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force say they're working with approximately 300 people who are in treatment for heroin misuse.
It comes after recent figures revealed that the number of heroin users has risen from 20 to 500 over the past decade.
The rise has been attributed by gardaí to the changing habits of dealers who, given the recession, are now targeting lower income earners with heroin instead of higher income earners with cocaine.
The problem of discarded needles will also be on the agenda today at County Hall where the taskforce are launching their strategic plan for the next two years.
Speaking to RedFM News David Lane of the Cork Drugs Task Force says all services in the city are working together to tackle the changing trend of heroin use in the city.
