The campaign now in it's 47th year saw 1800 Cork students from 21 schools fundraising this Christmas for at-risk older people
The money raised by the SHARE Christmas campaign will go towards maintaining 156 secure homes for at-risk older people.
The funds also support projects such as the provision of 10 newly converted housing units in Blackpool which they hope to complete this year.
The campaign is in it's 47th year and over Christmas 1800 fifth-year students from 21 Cork schools took part in the fundraising.
Speaking on Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM one of the students involved - Michael from Presentation College - outlined what the money raised will be spent on.
