Significant growth in Construction sector expected in Cork
Over 76,000 extra construction workers will be needed in Ireland between now and 2020.
That's according to the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) who say there is currently a severe skills shortage in the construction area in Cork and across the country.
It follows reports that the industry has turned a corner, showing last year as a pivotal year for growth Leeside and further growth is expected this year.
Projects such as Pairc Ui Chaoimh are nearing completion and the representative body warned that projects such as the Dunkettle Interchange and the N22 Macroom bypass need to come on stream to replace them.
