Simon Harris Defends Decisin To To Cut Pay For Locum Doctors
The Health Minister has defended the decision to cut pay rates for locum doctors.
It's led to some of them not showing up for work this week, which could cause a number of emergency departments to close.
Simon Harris says the decision was made to bring them closer in line with those on full time HSE contracts.
The Minister says it will also save the HSE a significant amount of money which could be used elsewhere in the health service.
