Singer Prince dies aged 57
The pop icon played in Cork in 1990.
The pop icon Prince has died at the age of 57.
His body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota, where his recording studio is located.
It's understood he was hospiatlised last week, however, there are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.
He has been widely acclaimed as one of the most inventive musicians of his era and some of his most popular hits include "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry."
The singer rocked crowds Leeside when he played in in Pairic Ui Chaoimh July 7th 1990 as part of the 'Nude' tour.
Music journalist David Sinclair says he was an incredibly talented and accomplished musician.
