SIPTU Tesco workers vote for industrial action
The ballot was taken over a pay and work pattern dispute.
Retail staff at Tesco have voted for industrial action in a dispute over pay.
The union SIPTU says the company is planning to enforce pay cuts of between 15 and 35 per cent, from next Monday.
It's accused Tesco of not fully implementing a Labour Court recommendation that included a 2 per cent pay rise.
SITPU's warned of action up to and including strike, if the company implements the pay cuts next week.
The union represents some Tesco retail staff in Douglas in Cork.
Speaking to RedFM News, SIPTU's Derek Casserly says they don't want the situation to lead to strike action.
