Six former Cork garda stations to be sold

11 garda stations acorss Cork have been closed over the past four years

The Office of Public Works is to sell six Cork garda stations that were closed in recent years.

11 garda stations in total have been closed across the city and county over the past four years.

Many of these properties reverted back to the OPW to identify an alternative State use or to manage their disposal.

Barrack Street and MacCurtain Street have been retained for State use and have been transferred to the City Council 

The Castletownsend station has been assigned for community use while Adrigole, Ballyfeard, Ballygurteen, Knocknagree, Goleen and Rathduff are all earmarked to be sold. Ballinspittle and Glenville are currently in use but they are on a closure list
