Up to eight people are injured following the incident in California.
A sixth Irish student has died following the collapse of a fourth floor balcony in Berkeley, California.
Up to eight others are injured following the accident, which occurred in the early hours of this morning.
All of those involved were J1 students in their early 20's - it's understood a number of the casualties were from south Dublin and graduated from schools in the Foxrock and Rathmines areas in 2012.
The Cabinet is considering sending a jet to help repatriate the bodies.
Tributes have been led by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who says the country mourns the tragic loss of the young lives and that his heart breaks for the parents of the students.
