Smart car 'top up' charge stalled Leeside
The ESB had announced plans to introduce charges for electric cars.
The ESB says plans to charge motorists for "topping up" electric cars have been put on hold.
The move comes after Cork County Council urged the ESB to reverse the plan to introduce charges for electric cars from next month.
Electric car owners can currently charge their vehicles for free, but the ESB had announced plans to introduce a pricing structure from January 1st.
