Social media and mental health link discussed

Fears have been expressed over the potential negative impact of social media on mental health.
Advocates for mental health and suicide awareness have expressed fears about the negative impact social media could be having on human interaction.
Concerns were raised at a mental health conference in Waterford at the weekend about the quality of face to face meetings and conversations in a world where people are regularly online.
Leeside, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Buckley from St. Patrick's Adolescent Mental Health Services says there are both pros and cons when it comes to social media use among young people.

Speaking to RedFM News, Dr. Buckley says social media can sometimes help young people.
