Solidarity To Propose Dáil Motion Opposing Closure Of The Cork Mail Centre In Little Island

The motion will call on the Government to instruct An Post to reverse closure and to enter into negotiations with CWU to expand the company's parcel delivery services without job losses
Up to 79 full time and 161 part time employees are set to lose their jobs as the semi-state company seeks savings of €11 million.
An Post says the Cork Centre is operating below 25% capacity and says it will offer exit packages, redeployment opportunities and will assist employees in finding alternative work.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Solidarity TD Mick Barry says the closure of the centre will have a long term negative impact:
