Some towns and villages could have speed limits reduced

A number of towns and villages throughout Cork could be declared 30km/hr zones.

A major review of speed limits is getting under way, which could also lead to reduced limits on certain sections of main roads on safety grounds.

This morning's Irish Examiner reports the last speed limit review in the county took place in 2017.

The public will be urged to have its say on a number of recommendations with the new speed limits becoming legal in September 2022.
