SouthDoc Blackpool will reopen on an appointment basis after its doors shut over a year ago
Patients who are unable to make the journey to the Kinsale Rd facility will be seen by appointment at the Blackpool centre.
In a letter seen by RedFM News SouthDoc’s Cork City Cell Committee says it expects the numbers to be low “as the majority of patients have transport and are more than happy to travel.
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Ken O'Flynn says this is not what was promised:
"What's happening here is SouthDoc is reneging on their promises, they made a commitment to open at the end of the month, that's not going to happen. They made a commitment and entered a contract with HSE to provide services to the northside, that's not happening. The idea that the northside is happy or anybody in the northside is happy with the service SouthDoc is now providing asking them and telling them to go to the southside of the city to the Kinsale Rd site. Nobody is happy with that. I'm in full dispute with the contents of this letter."
