Special Meeting Of Cork County Council To Discuss City Boundary Extension

A special meeting of Cork County Council is taking place this morning to discuss the terms of refernce for the McKinnon Review Group's implementation group which were issued last week.
In June the review group issued a recommendation to extend the city boundary instead of merging both Cork City and County Council.
The decision has received a mixed reaction and Cork County Council requested clarification on a number of key issues inlcuding the compensation package which will be offered to the local authority to compensate for the loss of revenue streams from a number of areas that will now be classed as city locations.
Speaking to RedFM News after the review group issued their findings Cllr Seamus McGrath says he believes there should have been some form of public consultation:
