Speculation is mounting that the date for the general election will be announced tomorrow...
Speaking in Cork this morning the Defence Minister Simon Coveney confirmed that he expects to be briefed about election proceedings when the Cabinet meets tomorrow.
It comes after weekend reports of a rift between Labour and Fine Gael over whether the election should be held on a Thursday or Friday.
When asked by Cork's RedFM about the date of the election this morning Minister Coveney denied any knowledge of when the Taoiseach will announce the date however he also said there'll be no massive surprises tomorrow:
