Pieta house is reminding communities in the Southside that they are available to talk to anyone who has been affected by recent suicides in the area.
It comes as a new Critical Incidence Response Planning group made up of the Cork City Council, HSE, Gardai and local leaders, is to be formed to address the spike of suicides in Cork.
Recent figures have shown that Cork has the highest suicide rate in the country with eight people taking their own lives in the past 4 weeks.
The HSE and Pieta House will be facilitating a community meeting to address the issue in the coming weeks.
Speaking to RedFM News Clinical Director of Pieta House Marguerite Kiely says it's important for people to know help is available and to contain the situation.
