Spotlight back on homelessness crisis

Cork Simon's Paul Sheehan told RedFM News says more needs to be done to address the crisis.

Modular housing alone won't be enough to tackle the housing crisis.

That's according to a Cork charity for the homeless who made the comments after Cork County Council said there are currently no plans to invest in modular homes. 

It emerged last week that modular homes being built to alleviate the homelessness crisis in the capital will end up costing taxpayers over €240,000 each - almost €140,000 more than originally anticiapted.

It coincides with the first meeting of the Dáil's new housing and homeless committee which will be hearing evidence from people affected by the crisis and those working in the sector.
