It's one of four weather warnings in effect across the country from 11 o'clock this morning.

Communities along the Atlantic coast and the River Shannon are bracing themselves, with up to 70 millimetres of rain and winds of up to 120 kilometres an hour forecast for the South, West and North West.

Bandon will be one the towns taking precautions after it was hit by floods just before Christmas.
