Status Yellow Rainfall warning issued for Cork

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for Cork and Kerry, as flood waters in many parts of the country remain at a critical level.
Rainfall totals of up to 40 milimetres are forecast in the region.
Flood Barriers at Mallow and Fermoy Bridge are due to be taken down shortly but the N25 Castlemartyr / Killeagh road reamins closed with serious flooding and diversions remain in place.
Many areas around Cork County remain underwater as the community attempts to clean up from Storm Frank.
In Mallow and Middleton several homes remain uninhabitable following the deluge of rain last week.
