Status Yellow weather warning in place for Cork

A Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for Cork this morning.
Up to 50 millimetres of rain is expected to fall in parts of the country today.
Already this morning there are reports of trees down - the Kanturk/Mallow Road is partially blocked in n Kanturk due to a fallen branch and a tree is down in Carrigrohane between Inniscarra and Leemount Cross - the road is blocked there as a result.
Excess surface water and very windy conditions are reported right across Cork this morning with all road users urge to take extreme care across the day
Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says conditions will be poor throughout the day:
"Gusts as high as 110km per hour are expected right across the country, possibly exceeding that around the south west of the country.
"Certainly all areas can expect to see unseasonably windy conditions and with that some pretty heavy spells of rain."
