Met Eireann forecast heavy rain and strong winds to hit Cork from this evening
A status yellow weather warning has been issued for Cork for this evening
Met Eireann say heavy rain of up to 50mm is forecast with spot flooding possible in low lying areas
Southeasterly winds will also reach mean speeds of between 50 and 65km/h at times, gusting up to to 100 km/h in places
The warning, which comes into effect from 4pm today remains in place until tomorrow
