Storm Desmond hits the Country
The country is being battered this morning by heavy rain and strong winds from Storm Desmond.
In Cork ESB crews are en route to restore power in Fermoy, Glanworth and Kilworth and continue to work in areas of Kinsale and Clonakilty.
Met Eireann has issued five weather warnings with a Status Orange warning issued for Munster.
Gardai have appealed to motorists not to make any unnecessary journeys with spot flooding reported around Cork County.
Some flights departed from Cork airport this morning, but regional flights have been cancelled because of high winds.
