Strict Visitor Restrictions Continue At Cork University Hospital
It follows an outbreak of the flu and the winter vomiting bug
Management at the hospital are banning all visitors in the interest of patient care and in order to restrict the spread of the two viruses
The only exception to this ban is for patients in the Intensive Treatment Unit and the Paediatric Ward.
CUH currently has 13 inpatients tested positive for the flu virus with a number of inpatients undergoing analysis, the vomiting bug is also prevalent on many wards.
All infection control measures are in place and every effort is being made to manage and contain the spread of both viruses
