Strict visitor restrictions imposed at Cork University Hospital
It comes following the number of patients who have presented with flu like symptoms.
The restrictions have been imposed in a bid to prevent the spread of the flu virus within the hospital.
Restrictions are also imposed at the Mercy.
All visitors to CUH have been banned with the exception of the Intensive Treatment Unit and the Paediatric Ward.
Visitors are restricted to one per patient at the Intensive Treatment Unit and the Paediatric Ward at the discretion of the Ward Manager only.
CUH regret any inconvenience caused to patients and relatives by these necessary measures.
People with flu like symptoms are advised to contact their GP by phone in the first instance and avoid presenting at the Emergency Department at CUH.
