Strike action called off at Irish Rail

The work stoppages at Irish Rail have been called off after marathon talks at the Labour Relations Commission. Management and unions last night agreed to a revised set of proposals which will address "all key issues" at the company. The company will hold off on pay cuts for 3 weeks to allow a ballot of workers - while the strikes due to take place next Sunday, Monday and the 21st of September won't go ahead.
