Student voice heard at anti-water charges protest in Cork

The impact of water charges on students was one of the key topics highlighted at an anti-water charges protest in the city centre over the weekend. Over 3,000 people turned out for the rally which marched through the city centre calling for an end to the fee before hearing from key speakers including a students union representative from CIT. Organisers of the event and anti-water charges groups from across Cork are now gearing up for next Saturday's national protest which is taking place in Dublin and is expected to attact tens of thousands. Speaking to RedFM News Diarmaid Ó Cadhla of the People's Convention says the uncertainty about the effect of water charges on students in further proof that the fee needs to be scrapped.
