Students Protest Against Lack Of Funding For Third Level Education
Students are queuing to get a space in the UCC library at exam time and queuing to get a seat in packed lecture halls.
Those were just some of the revelations made at a protest yesterday by students in the college who say that lack of government investment in third level sector is having a major impact on students and lecturers.
The demonstration in UCC was part of a series of protests across the country where the government was called on to address what's been branded a funding crisis in third level.
Between 2007 and 2014 a fall in government funding of 38% was recorded for universities.
Speaking to RedFM News Edward Lahiff Chair of the Irish Federation of University Teachers says it's time the issues was addressed:
