Support After Crime Services: Children Will Be Children So It Is Essential Parents Teach Them Right From Wrong

Parents need to be held accountable when their children commit crimes
That's according to Sally Hanlon, the Director of Services at the Cork-based charity, Support-After-Crime Services.
Children as young as six are involved in vandalism and theft, leaving victims frustrated and without access to redress or a sense of justice.
She says that children will be children, so it is essential parents teach them right from wrong.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sally Hanlon, said that victims can't be left covering the cost of child perpetrated offences:
"A child will be a child, and will have a child's mind and should be allowed be children, but they also have to know right from wrong, have respect for themselves and also have to know there are consequences for their behaviour. So if there's damage done, well, somebody has to pay that back, not the victim."
