Talk on controversial vaccine held in Cork this evening

A public talk on the controversial cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil takes place in Ballincollig this evening..

The talk which is being hosted by the Irish Cancer Society is part of a series being rolled out around the country which are being addressed by expert speakers.

The information campaign was launched after concerns were raised about the drop in the number of schoolgirls receiving Gardasil due to concerns about the side effects of the vaccine.

Cork based consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Matt Hewitt says concerns about the vaccine are unfounded and he is due to address the talk this evening

Speaking to RedFM News Dr Hewitt says cervical cancer kills and it is an entirely preventable disease.
