Taoiseach considers future over weekend

The Taoiseach's to spend the weekend in Mayo considering his future as Fine Gael leader.


Pressure's mounting on him to outline a plan for his departure within days or face a motion of no confidence in him at the parliamentary party meeting next week. 

Another backbencher's called for him to go, but one of the leading contenders to take the job, Simon Coveney, appears to be giving Enda Kenny time and space.
