Taoiseach: Current Public Health System Across EU Makes No Sense
It comes as G7 nations prepare to agree a new declaration aimed at preventing future pandemics
It'll include efforts to reduce the time it takes to develop vaccines and enhance global surveillance networks.
Speaking at the European ALDE Party's congress, Micheal Martin says lessons from the Covid crisis need to be learned:
"`We need a much stronger public health function at the centre of the Union. The current system makes no sense in my view, and it leads to confusion and missed opportunities to more rapid response."
