Taoiseach Micheál Martin And British Prime Minister Boris Johnson To Meet This Afternoon

The two leaders are expected to discuss the many issues facing Northern Ireland at the meeting in Chequers
Seán Defoe has more for RedFM News:
"Relations between the UK and Ireland have been strained in recent years, largely as a result of Brexit.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin meets one of the chief architects of Britains exit from the EU this afternoon as he's traveled to London for a meeting with Boris Johnson.
The two will have lunch at the Prime Minister's country estate Chequers in a meeting officials say has been long planned.
The response to the COVID crisis across both islands will be discussed in detail by the two leaders.
But issues relating to Northern Ireland are also high on the agenda.
In the week of the Ballymurphy Inquest findings, Boris Johnson's government has also suggested it plans an amnesty for alleged crimes committed by British soldiers in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.
The government here has been critical of such suggestions, saying a unilateral move on the issue can't happen."
