Taoiseach praises innovation of traders during city centre visit

Micheál Martin is meeting with business owners and diners on Princes Street at the moment following yesterday's return of outdoor dining.
Pubs, cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating opened yesterday following the latest easing of restrictions.
Traders on Princes street formed a holding company to commission and install several large, specially designed parasols to protect around 240 diners from the elements.
Speaking to RedFM News on Princes Street in the past few minutes, Taoiseach Micheál Martin says the plan will go some of the way towards getting life back into the city centre following months of closures:
"I think it's fantastic and I think it's great that the outdoor dining is back and hospitality is back outdoors. I think the city has been very innovative, the traders, the City Council, in terms of pedestrianisation of streets, in terms of the adaptation of streets, in terms of the umbrellas and so on behind me on Princes Street and in other streets. I think that it's all very good and I think also, it's all helping to get the city back on its feet and to give people opportunities as we move on and emerge from COVID-19 and relax restrictions."
