It's been confirmed that the next Budget won't need 2 billion euro in austerity measures, after the latest Exchequer returns turned out healthier than expected. Tax receipts are over a billion euro ahead of target - with the public finances over 800 million euro better off than projections at the start of the year. Michael Noonan says there will be some tough medicine in the budget - but that he won't need to impose the full 2 billion euro of austerity measures planned.
