Teenage boy remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was shot in Dublin's south inner city

A number of shots were fired at the 17 year-old while he was in the back of a taxi on Eugene Street on Wednesday night.
A Black Hyundai i30 was found burnt out a short distance away on Greenville Avenue.
Local Sinn Fein councillor Maire Devine says the whole area's in shock:
"Well, it was very very disturbing. It happened in my area but also I got a distressed phone call from two frontline workers who are nurses like myself.. We're very very distressed as the entire community there, not knowing to go out, or not but eventually people did go out in a community effort to try and help this young boy."
