The Association of Childhood Professionals says childcare workers taken for granted

Thousands of early childcare workers, supported by the State-funded Early Childhood Care and Education, are only being paid for 38 weeks of the year, meaning they are being laid off this week.
The Association of Childhood Professionals say many people working in the sector are being taken for granted.
A demonstration was held in the city centre on Friday to highlight the issue and to call on the government to address underinvestment in the sector.
It's also emerged that the Department of Children and Youth Affairs has failed to agree contracts with childcare providers for next September onwards, and as a result the ACP says here's no guarantee it will be sorted by the time parents seek to take up their entitlements in just over two months' time.
