The Citizens' Assembly is meeting this weekend to discuss the Eighth Amendment

The group of 99 citizens will hear from medical and legal experts on the issue of foetal abnormalities and abortion law in Ireland
The Citizens' Assembly will hold its first debate on the Eighth Amendment today.
The body is addressing Ireland's restrictions on abortion and whether or not the Government should hold a referendum on the matter.
It's been criticised for the use of Fatal Foetal Abnormalities in its agenda setting out this weekend's work.
This is the second of four weekends which have been allocated for the discussion of abortion and the Eighth Amendment by the Citizens' Assembly.
Gerry Edwards is spokesperson for the Terminations for Medical Reasons - he's concerned the assembly's work may be delayed
